A machine-readable index of Oakland's public documents — council files, police reports, audited financial statements, and open datasets — with the numbers inside them extracted, cross-checked, and linked back to the exact document and page they came from.
The data is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Figures are extracted from documents by automated tools and have not been individually verified by a person. Extraction can misread a table, an OCR pass can garble a digit, and a source document can itself contain errors. Where a number matters, follow its citation to the original document and confirm it there before relying on or republishing it. See the methodology page for the specific known limitations.
To report a suspected error: send the page, the figure, and what it should be to the address below. The report is checked against the source document cited on that page; a confirmed error is corrected on the page and the correction is noted.
To request a withheld document: internal_affairs, use_of_force, stop_data, and cpra_report documents are withheld from public serving pending individual review (see the Sources section). Name the document in your message; each request gets an individual owner review.
Rights-holders or subjects of a record who want something reviewed for correction or removal use the same address.
