There is some identifiable disparity in the above data that is clear between the outliers between
the margin demographics identified as the white and African American. Moreover, our detailed
review of the most recently selected Area data was better than the previous reporting period.
First, the overall search recovery rate of the most recently selected Area is at 32% – or, 10%
above the overall Department rate of 22% for the squads last reviewed. Second, we noted
considerable variance in the search recovery rates of several individual squads within the
selected Area, from a low of 3% to a high of 34% with only one squad below 10%. (See
illustration below.)
