Deliverables Research report. Implementation Activities The Department’s research and recommendations were presented to the Chief of Police in a report dated September 8, 2003. On June 6, 2003, the Chief of Police requested that a report of a funding source study be completed. This request was assigned to the BFO with a due date of July 7, 2003, and the report was provided to the Chief. As of the publication of this report, the Department has been awarded $521,000 on a COPS Federal Technology Grant and the City has earmarked approximately $1,438,000 for the purchase of In Car Videos. A Request for Proposals process concluded in February 2006 and the Department identified a vendor (Digital Patroller) to install approximately 80 cameras in police vehicles, including constructing a video network and installing security equipment to support secure video transmissions for an amount exceeding $1,900,000. During this reporting period, the Department has continued to implement the program. The Department has installed 101 cameras and upgraded equipment. 63
