Fiscal Year 2013-2015 Special Budget Meeting

EXPENSES: SUPPORT OF MAYOR'S BUDGET: The BAC generally supports the Mayor's proposed budget, and generally supports the proposed amendments by Council President Kemighan. SUPPORT OF PUBLIC SAFETY: The BAC supports prioritization for improving public safety, and agrees that improving public safety includes includes funding for human services, child education and recreation programs (e.g. Headstart, W. Oakland Youth Center, etc.), as well as blight abatement efforts. The BAC supports increased civilianization of public safety services where it makes sense. SUPPORT OF CITY'S WORKFORCE: The BAC agrees that the city must creatively, equitably and sustainably support a best-in-class workforce.
