Proposed Midcycle Budget Progress Update
The proposed budget includes limited General Purpose Fund contributions toward existing voter-approved funding requirements and policy commitments identified in the
City's Fiscal Roadmap. These allocations are consistent with the City's Roadmap to Fiscal Health presented to the Finance & Management Committee in February 2026, which
outlined the multi-year process required to improve compliance with existing voter-approved funding provisions over time. The allocations include approximately $1.31 million to
the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (1870), $508,510 toward Measure Q parks maintenance allocation, $380,000 to support Oakland Unified School District programs through the
Sugar-Sweetened Beverage Tax Fund (Fund 1030), and $610,828 to library operations supporting Measure D funding requirements. In addition, the proposed budget restores the
City Auditor’s Office to be in full compliance with Measure X by adding 1.0 FTE Performance Auditor position.
